In case you missed it...

I haven't posted in a few days, and have some catching up to do, but I wanted to get this on in case you missed it. Space shuttle Discovery was successfully launched yesterday from the Kennedy Space Center. Thoughts and prayers are with the astronauts and their families.

It's worth watching the whole video. At about 8:30 they talk about how fast the shuttle will be traveling when it enters space...9 times the speed of a rifle bullet!

The first full day in space consisted of examining the orbiter for damage sustained during launch, and making preparations for docking with the International Space Station tomorrow afternoon.
